Our design remit was to install aluminium sliding doors to replace steel sliding doors on the 5th, 10th and 15th floor balconies in 4 blocks of flats at Elephant & Castle.
The sliding patios had to be thermally efficient, improve noise and be strong enough to withstand the British weather on the 15th floor.

The original patios had a steel subframe, above and to the sides, which had to stay.
We were also asked to insulate these steel subframes to the inside and provide a bespoke aluminium capping to the outside.
We used our Visoglide penthouse plus aluminium sliding patios with heavy-duty interlockers and 6mm glass. Above the patios, we used our royale stepped look steel replacement windows which are detailed in another case study.
The whole process from start to finish was managed exceptionally well by You Choose windows. The install team was even more efficient than I had anticipated and I was back in the flat a day early.
