It depends on whether you are in a conservation area or not, You will need to check this with your local authority, but usually, this will not be necessary.
We will fit either 4mm or 6mm glass in double glazed units depending on the size of the patio doors. You can also have laminate glass for extra acoustic effect and extra security. They will be argon gas-filled, planitherm coated and have a warm edge spacer.
While pvc-u doors are definitely cheaper, aluminium doors have much slimmer sightlines and are stronger, so they can be made with larger width and height.
We recommend going out or being away while we are installing your new doors so that we can keep disruption to a minimum. We will make good any damage to plasterwork up to decorating standard.

If it is in an extension, then you have to have them. If you are replacing like for like then they are not obligatory, but we would recommend them to reduce condensation.
